I'd buy one in a millisecond if they did. I live in Vermont and an AWD vehicle is essential. Why can't they use the Infiniti awd platform? Thoughts and idea's on when they might lay one on us?

I always thought they wouldn't do it because it would conflict with the Infiniti line. Maxima interior is on par already with Infiniti, some would argue even better. And to have a power train to match at 10 grand cheaper I can see where the confliction would take place.

Add 2-3 thousand to a $40,000 car and decrease its gas mileage 1-3 MPG, there would not be very many buyers for this setup.

The price and the MPG is a selling point for sure- I love the MPG on my 7th gen- 8th is better so they say.

They make one, it's the Q50 AWD and it starts at $39,000. I honestly feel they are keeping the entry level Infiniti RWD/AWD and the flagship Nissan FWD and a little cheaper to leave a clear difference in brands.

What Nissan should do is make an AWD Altima.

if you want a AWD then go with the Infniti Q50x or whatever they have that comes in AWD, Nissan doesn't offer AWD on cars not since the mid 80's with the Stanza 4wd, so you would have to go with the crossover. Not cost feasible on a Nissan cars to have AWD. Otherwise, get a Subaru.

Aye. Makes sense. Q50. Alright then.

And an Altima AWD is a smashing idea.

I do own a Subaru....it's a Tribeca and gets about 1 mile per gallon so the slight drop in mpg for an awd Maxima would be no big whoop.

I'd get a Legacy but they just seem to disappoint in styling every redesign period. The loss of the GT was a big bummer too. I fear that if I wait for a good looking Legacy, I'll be 90 before I buy one.
