Hello - my husband has a 2012 Maxima. He was taking apart the automatic shifter and heard something break.

When he put it back together the release button to shift no longer works. He went to Nissan and they say you can't buy the part separately and would need to buy the whole shifter, but when it came in, it didn't fix the problem.

The Nissan guys took one off another car and that is the picture attached. Anyone know how we can fix this?
