Random Stalling/Gauges Freezing

Hey Guys, Having two issues which seem to be related. Searched and never got a clear answer on cause. I have a Cali spec 99 SE 5 spd. Was getting codes for knock sensor and misfire. Recently replaced knock sensor, starter (oem), battery, new ngk platinum plugs, coil pack on #2, and cylinder, fuel filter, springs/shocks on all four corners,, VSS, and oil change.

Not getting CEL light, and in the evenings on my way home usually after 25-30 minutes of driving my gauges will freeze - the temp gauge goes all the way up, gas gauge all the way down, the speedo around 50mph and tach around 3000rpm. Car will continue to run just fine until I roll to a stop, the engine will die. Dash lights will come on, I press clutch, it re-starts fine. Gauges still frozen tho. Stalling will continue randomly when pulling to a stop.

Changed VSS and cleaned MAF, still happens.

Alternator is fine, charges at 14.5 volts or so...again, no CEL. Anybody have a clue?? Thanks fellas!

you have some type of glitch going on with that cluster, I would say swap with someone to see if the problem is still around, if not then you have your answer, but if it's still around then check all the wiring going to the cluster for anything that looks like a burn, or just something that's out of place, also check your grounds, and clean them up if you can, on the stall issue the only thing I can think of is the Maf is going out, or the starter was not installed right, and make sure your CEL bulb is not out, I would still check the computer

Thanks for the advice. CEL is working though, and stalling issue was happening prior to new starter. The gauges freezing was first issue that popped up. I am thinking that it's heat related somehow - gauges are fine until about 25-30 minutes of driving, and in fact after shutting off for 5 minutes or so the problem disappears. Huh.

Check and clean the ground, bad ground can cause weird things to happen.

most likely for the gauge, theres a wiring issue behind it, take it apart and have a look at it. something is not making full connection..
