i just took a study break and watched those skyline videos. i just kept watching and listening over and over again DAAAYM i love the sound it makes when it revs and blasts off to some far off place in seconds. i wish the maxima could sound like that! what makes the skyline sound so awesome? is it the turbo? exhaust? or just by being a bada$$ car in general?

They're not in MPH. They're in KM/HR.

I have the same video. It's definitely KM/H guys...*NOT* MPH.

You can just barely make out the outline of "km/h" on the speedo, and what car would go 120 MPH at only 3500rpm with an 8000rpm redline? Maybe a McLaren F1 and that's it, but that car is a small 4-banger with a turbo from what it sounded like from other videos.

And the road noise / speed was definitely more 120 km/h-ish (around 70 mph) than 120 mph.

thanks for the detailed breakdown.. I stand corrected on my mistake.

ANYWAYS - at 70mph or whatever 120km/h is converted, HOLY COW... that video is STILL amazing... I love it and I love that car!

skyline's make me happy

I think that filming car might have been a subara wrx or 2.5rs (previous gen). The one launch clip kinda shows a hood scoop on the film car, and there's a white scuby sitting right next to the skyline as he drops it. This is in Launch2.mpg

Such a pretty car, damn this country for not selling them here
