Weird popping noise sounded like it came from tranny

So this thing did something weird. It's a 97 gle with the 5 speed. Now what the problem was is that when I came out of reverse from backing into a parking spot, into neutral, there was a loud pop that was felt throughout the car. Car still drives fine. I tried to get it to do it again and was only able to repeat the noise one more time right after the first time it happened, and hasn't happened since. It's been nearly 2 weeks since the first and last time it did this. I researched and came up with input shaft bearing or throw out bearing. Any other suggestions? Or does that sound about right? Mind you, it only did it when the clutch was engaged (pedal off the floor).

no, it doesn't sound right. neither of those bearings make a popping noise...

no idea what this noise could have been, but it wasn't a bearing.

Would the CV's make that noise when the car is not in motion? Cuz it has been nearly a month since it last did it, and it just did it again today. Only got it to do it once. Car was cold, was moving from one spot to another and as I came out of reverse and had it in neutral, it did it.
