Faulty oxygen sensor and strong fuel smell
Faulty oxygen sensor and strong fuel smell
I recently came up with the code P0135-H02S1-BANK1. My check engine light is on also. I know this is the oxygen sensor but recently in cold weather during first start up of the day and if I turn on the heater, I get an extremely strong fuel smell in the cabin. Should I get my sensor replaced ASAP? Any help would be appreciated.
The oxy sensor will not cause the strong fuel smell.
You may have a small gasoline leak. Maybe near the fuel filter, and hopefully not a hose on the fuel rail. Look for any signs of leaking from any gasoline hoses under the hood. look near the fuel pressure regulator for other hoses

You probably have a rubber fuel fuel hose that is just starting to become hard and brittle. When the hose is cold and contracted, it leaks. When it warms up and expands, it seals itself. It will just keep getting worse as time goes on. It took me 2 years to find it on a previous Maxima.
