2014 slower then 2010

I haven't posted or been on here a lot lately. But something's been bugging me

Am I crazy or is the revised 2014 slower then my previous 2010. I know a ton about these cars thanks to this forum, especially slow takeoff from the weight and cvt combo in these cars. I swear though my 2010 was a lot faster then my 14. The 14 is my first brand new car I ever owned so I've been telling myself the engines not broke in, but I don't know maybe the 2010 was just better built.

I use premium always, also have a kn drop in. I've been thinking of taking that out, and driving without it for awhile. See if that has any negative effects.

Anyone else notice this that went from a 09-11 to a 12-14

Probably due to the CVT?

Gen 5.5 is faster than the gen 6.

Haha! Ya as the maxima got fatter it lost performance. My 2003 Maxima was a pretty quick car, would have embarrassed my current pig.

Anyways, Tommy, I don't think there is. My bet is that it's placebo and you're inside your own head. I didn't feel that way when I went from my '09 to my '12 and I don't recall there being any significant changes with the refresh with respect to performance, throttle, etc.

As quoted from madmax17:

Nissan's flagship Maxima sedan enters the 2014 model year with the following enhancements:

Addition of a new S Value Package with smoked appearance headlights, HID Xenon headlights, compass in rearview mirror, 18-inch aluminum-alloy Dark Hyper Silver wheels, rear spoiler, fog lights, outside mirrors with integrated turn signals and metallic trim treatment

Previous Monitor and HID Xenon Packages no longer available

Standard RearView Monitor, USB connectivity and 7.0-inch color monitor with QVGA display added to SV grade

Two new exterior colors: Gun Metallic (replaces Dark Gray) and Midnight Garnet (replaces Tuscan Sun); eight available exterior colors total
Offered in two models, 3.5 S and 3.5 SV, each powered by a 290-horsepower 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine mated to an Xtronic CVT® with manual and "DS" (drive sport) modes with available paddle shifters

Available late August 2013

Looks like nothing significant.

Good answer dudemaine. Your probably right that I'm overthinking myself. And maybe I read wrong but I thought I rememeber reading something about nissan changing parts in the transmission in the 7th gen from the earlier model to the later model, I can't find thread in regards to this, and maybe it has nothing to do with said issue or lack there of. Just trying to find more info
Ps George is on another planet with every answer ive ever seen him make
