So I'm looking for everyones suggestions about which tires i should consider for my next purchase. I currently have Goodyear Eagle RS-A's on my car now. but they are extremely expensive at around $300 a tire. I do love how they handle though. they grip the road so well. I may just end up purchasing another pair. But first i would like to see if there are some other cheaper alternatives.

Another vote for DWS. There's also the latest version, the dws 06, which they claim to have better sidewalls.
I replaced the stock Goodyear RSA's after just 12,000 miles. I just never felt confident in the rain and snow with them. The DWS 06's are awesome in the rain and grip much better in the snow-- even with my 19" Sport wheels...

I took the crappy Goodyears off back in October and installed 17" snow tires because there was no way I would drive on snow on tires that aquaplane on damp pavement.
After reading so many bad reviews I decided to send a nasty e-mail to Goodyears Canadian website.
I'VE GOT 4 EAGLE RS-A TIRES ON MY 2012 NISSAN MAXIMA THAT ARE THE CRAPPIEST TIRES I'VE HAD ON ANY CAR. DANGEROUS IF THE ROAD IS WET, AQUAPLANING ALL OVER THE ROAD.
I'M ASKING FOR A $100 TRADE IN FOR EACH TIRE FROM ONE OF YOUR STORES FOR SAFER TIRES.
EXCUSE THE CAPITAL LETTERS, IT'S JUST TO SHOW YOU HOW PISSED OFF I AM.

Well well well... what more can really be said. These tires have bad online reviews that outweigh good by a long shot. Yes, there were some good reviews on the Eagle RSA's. However many of those tire reviews were made when the tires had low miles on them (typically less than 10,000 miles).
For some people the experience the Eagle RSA's were so bad that the reviewer stated that they would never even buy Goodyear Tires again. One reviewer went as far as to say that Goodyear really dropped the ball on the Eagle RSA's.
Negative reviews outweigh the positive ones by so much that I question the validity of the positive comments. On this site we have no bias of one tire to another, and we show a balance of positive and negative online tire reviews from real people. This write up was difficult because there are just so many negative experiences. Some positive reviewers claim that people may only get 20K miles because they are not doing frequent tire rotations. This is possible, but many reviewers state frequent rotations and have also claimed long tred life with other tires they've owned.
This Goodyear tire price is about $110 at Discount Tire Company for the V-Rated (more on Tire Speed Ratings) P225/45R18.
Our final thought here at tire-reviews-online.com? This isn't a very good product put out by Goodyear Tires. Price isn't everything and in the long run you may find yourself replacing these tires sooner than you think. Even if you do get decent miles out of them, you may find the tires noisy.
If you'd really like to put something on your Goodyear credit card you may consider the Eagle G2's or Goodyear Assurance TripleTred.

Working as a tech at a Nissan dealer, I can assure you that the Goodyear tires are not so great both treadwear wise and handling. I had my 14 Sport for 5 months and bought a set of Michelin Primacy MXM4 off a tire rack with the $70 rebate Michelin was offering, while the Goodyears still had plenty of tread for me to sell them quickly. The moment I installed them the car felt smoother to me, no longer delt with flat spots every morning, and the ride was more quiet. Driving in rain was now problem for me either, I looked down and didn't realize that I was doing 70mph in pouring down rain. Oops... In conclusion I really like the Michelins. However I have a separate set of winter tires, so not sure how they drive in snow, but 5000 miles later the tread is still new.
I would go with anything other than Goodyear tires. IMO they all suck. The Continental DWS & Michelin Primacy MXM4 are very good tires. You also may want to check out Kumho tires and General. I have had good luck with these as well and are less money if that is an issue.
Since we are talking tires, the Sport comes with the 19" and the tire size is 245/40/19. Is that the only size that can fit on the stock wheels or can you go +1 on it??? Has anyone put a bigger tire on the OEM wheels and what size? I was thinking of going with a 255/40/19.
The Continental DWS are a very popular choice around here.
Only for those who live in an area with Snow and want a 4 season tire. I have DWS on my E55 and they were great but had soft sidewalls and floated under acceleration.

RSAs are horrible! I was impressed with BFG G-FORCE COMP-2 A/S myself provided snow was not a part of your year.

I'm still waiting for a reply from Goodyear in Ohio to find out what rebate they will give me for safer tires.
The only catch is that I have to use whatever they offer me on another set of Goodyears.

Had the all season ones on my Mazda6 wagon and they performed without a hitch all last winter.

From Discount Tire web site the following tires will fit OEM 19 inch wheels.
How do you figure. I went to 1010 Tires and the 255/40/19 says wheel width starting at 8.5". The stock 19's are 8" wide?
You are correct. I should have pasted the following:
These tire size(s) are Optional/Plus Sizes that will work on your vehicle. Using one of these sizes may require the purchase of new wheels.
255 will be fine though there isn't much of a point on the stock wheels, as they are only 8" wide.
You may actually experience more sidewall roll and not help anything.
I have the BF Goodrich Comp 2's. They make the ride stand out and give it a sporty/aggressive look. I am extremely pleased with their performance in the weather. Good speed rating (V) and you can actually hear the tires stick to the road for good grip. I would give these tires 5 stars!

I'm really digging the Toyo Proxes 4 plus. Great price and a good warranty.
