Winter vs Summer
Winter vs Summer
So in the summer my car will start right up without me having to push the gas immediately after I crank the car. But when winter comes and I try to start the car without pushing the gas it dies just as quick as it starts, so I normally have to give it 1 push on the gas then it will just idle as it warms up. Any idea why that is?
Perhaps your iacv needs to be cleaned. This is done by removing the iacv and cleaning with carb cleaner.
Wouldn't hurt to clean the throttle body with spray throttle body cleaner. Also might as well spray the maf with maf spray.
Both of thesechemicals are made by CRC corporation. They can be found at your local auto parts store.

Idle Air Control Valve - A module controlled by the ECU that regulates how much air the engine gets at idle. It is also what bumps up the RPMs when the AC is on, or when more power is needed to run the power steering (IIRC). It is a triangle looking plate on the drivers side of the intake manifold. There should be three plugs of different colors going to it. Remove the three bolts that hold it on and clean it very good with TB cleaner. Mine did the same thing. I cleaned it, and that helped for a bit. I ended up getting one from the junkyard and that fixed it. I also had the problem of the stuck high idle. It would decide to idle at 1500rpm for a while, then drop back down.
There is also a idle set process that makes sure the TB is adjusted correctly. The details of how to do it are on here in various places. Search it and it will pop up.

There's a sticky for all intake cleaning in the stickies. I can thoroughly clean everything and put it back within 30 mins with the exception of the egr valve. Whenever you have an issue like this it's best to start with intake cleaning because it's free and eliminates alot of potential issues in question. I have the same exact problem but for me it's my battery terminals. Theyve been rusted for a while and I rigged up some new terminals that still aren'ta king S solid connection. Going to change them out when it warms up. How do your terminals battery cables look?

Check the cold idle linkage and plunger (wax motor). It's down under the TB, to the left. It's job is to open the throttle plate slightly when the engine has cooled off for easier starts. If the plunger (wax motor) isn't moving, replacement of the TB is the only fix.
