High Idle and Misfires

Hey guys,

So I made a post a while back about my Maxima idleing rough and low. Well, it got better for a while (still was idleing low), then one day it started missing again. These misses are frequent when the car is warm. I thought it may be airflow so I replaced the upper intake manifold and the throttle body. Hoses are also alright. Did the relearn procedure and the car went back to 600-800 rpms. So I started the car up again and now I'm getting high rpms (1000-1300). Also, when the engines cold it misses some, but when it get warms it misses quite frequently. Along with that, the car has a tough time accelerating. Not sure what it could be. I replaced my Crankshaft Position Sensor and that didn't help much. I'm thinking it could maybe be my fuel filter but I'm probably wrong. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks guys.

P.S. I'm getting no other codes so I'm stuck on what to do next.

The new throttle body may be bad, so I'm going to put the old one back in soon. (It was working but was easier to take off with the manifold)

Well, we definitely need more input here:
  • Can you provide a link to your previous post? (Even better, summary of it)
  • What's the manufacturing date and specs (AT/MT) of your car?
  • You said "I replaced my P0335"; did you mean to say "I replaced my Crankshaft Position Sensor"?
  • Your statement of "... misses are frequent when the car is warm ..." provides an essential solution clue. The reason is that when the engine is cold, it runs off pre-sets. When it warms up, the input from sensors becomes critical. So, one/more of your sensors is almost certainly bad.
At this time, the list of suspects is quite broad: Your MAF, Crank/Cam Position Sensors, the TPS, the ECT, and perhaps something air/fuel related.

Sorry about that, I was on my phone when I this thread.

1. https://maxima.org/forums/5th-genera...ough-idle.html
2. I have a 2002 3.5L V6 Maxima (5th Gen)
3. Yes, sorry about that. It should be fixed now.
4. Thank you for that input, could a faulty 02 sensor be the culprit as well? I don't have a code for a faulty 02 sensor, but if one was bad I assume the car would throw one.

I have a friend who owns a Maxima who would let me borrow his MAF to see if if mine is faulty. But that won't be for another couple weeks because I have to finish my year at college.
