The flex pipe on my Max is extremely shot, sounds like s*** and rattles at start up and idle, bad gas mileage and it sounds like I have a aftermarket catback exhaust when im driving, shop confirmed it is indeed the flex pipe. But they want $150 to replace it and I don't wanna pay that much IF I dnt have too, I bought the pipe for $30 bucks, how should I go about installing it? I got a feeling Im gonna have to just cough up and pay lol

Shop around different places , I've had muffler shops quote outrageous prices and others so cheap I question their ability lol,I know one that'll charge $350 for that fix and another that'll charge $35

It does not cause bad fuel economy and it's about a 50 dollar job for someone to weld it (call around to the muffler shops). Cheaper if you take the Y pipe to them.

Thanks a lot guys, I decided im gonna have the shop weld it on for me. BTW I just changed the spark plugs with NGK power plugs. I noticed a HUGE difference so far, car starts up much quicker, no longer stutters on start up and less vibration while idling.
