Is it possible to do a 6spd manual tranny swap?

This may be a silly question. But, is it possible to do a tranny swap in the maxima? Perhaps for a 6 spd. I should've done my research before buying the max but I didn't and thought I would be able to do some high performance upgrades. Now after being on this site for a few months I realize I will never be able to turbo or supercharge this car with the tranny that's in it now. This may seem like a stupid question to some but I'm just curious if anyone has given this thought.

Did you look at the turbo on the q50? Will it fit?

Sure it is possible...anything is possible if you have enough money to pay people to do it. What 6 speed manual transmission do you plan on putting in there?

I may be stating the obvious here, but the Q50's turbo engine is a VR, not a VQ.

Who buys a $40,000 car and then tricks it out with turbo and 6 speed manual??? Come on man, this is a daily driver, not a track car. In about 5-7 years when Bluebook has you well under $8000, then it becomes a track car.

Lol who said I wanted a track car? I didn't know track cars were the only vehicles with turbos. And I didn't say I was dead set in a 6 spd, just seemed like the only option given my choices. Just because you may not be into performance upgrades don't flame the next man who can do what he wishes with his hard earned money.

Not flaming anyone, just speaking pragmatically. If you really wanted a fast luxury car, and money wasn't the issue, why not an Genesis G90, BMW 7series...all wheel or at least rear wheel drive?

For most of us, it would be a costly retrofit. If you have access to the talent and cheap labor it would be an interesting project. You would be throwing your resale value in the tank however. There are many threads in this site wondering how to get more performance but this car may not have been the best choice for the "go faster" crowd. That said, I do enjoy its factory performance while still getting an honest 32 -33 MPG on the road.
