led hood lights

I was told when I purchased these lights that I could wire them to my corners. I was looking fro anyone who has done this and knows what wires to splice and use, because the instructions are in Japenese. By the way the lights start with two wires then there is some heat shrink and three wires come out a red, black and white. I know that 99% of the time red is + and black is -. Could someone give me some more input on my situation?

The ones I bought have only a red and a black wire, your white wire is probably just a second negative and not necessary. To have them turn on with the corner lamp:

Splice the red wire to the orange with black stripe wire that comes out from the lightbulb socket.
Attach the black wire to:
a) another black wire, or
b) the negative treminal on your battery, or
c) your frame or any piece of metal attached to it.
Turn 'em on!
A side note: Unless the cops where you live are blind, you will get busted for having these. I have been pulled over twice for the blue ones, and once for the "white" ones which seem to still have a slight blue tint.

blakkrob, may I ask you what is the purpose of those led hood lights? Do they make your car look better or increase your HP? Please enlighten me.

I guess people could ask the same thing about your seats..

I have green led washer lights on my Max.. I like them a lot, plus it helps for when I'm driving in the fog, people can see them better.

You're funny. The big difference is that my seats ARE NOT illegal and I don't get tickets for them.
Have you heard of fog lights?

And if they did, his answer would be that his seats are more comfortable than the stock ones. And he could still laugh at people who have those stupid washer LEDs that are RICEY and do nothing but distract other drivers. Whoever invented those should be shot.

There isn't a law about having lights on your hood, it just depends what color you put. My green ones, for example, are not illegal.

In my hometown, you can never have too many lights. Really foggy, dumb drivers.. best to place it safe and make your car look good too

Lights on your hood, roof trunk or underbody are illegal. Thay cannot be turned on while you are driving on the street. They are intended for off road or show use only. Doesn't matter what color they are. There illegal.

Blue ones will get you in lots of trouble. They can get you for impersonating an officer with blue lights. Thats big time trouble.

Call them what you will, the purpose of these lights is to attract attention. Even with clear corners and tails, the Maxima looks like just another four door family sedan. I used to go out looking for people to race, and no one would ever take me seriously (unless I went hauling past them doing 90+), because my car looked so plain and the majority of Maxima owners (at least around here) are age 45+ and wouldn't dream of driving over the speed limit. The night I put on my blue LEDs, I went out on the same road I always went to, and was challenged three times in half an hour. And the "ricey" altezzas I saved up for increased the effect. Rice on a Maxima is just a way of visually separating us from every other family sedan out there.

This depends on where you live. Here in Washington, there is no law that forbids the use of lights on any part of the car as long as they are not a color that is explicitly forbidden or of an intensity greater than three-hundred candlepower.

I have LED washer nozzles. And I have them in hyperwhite. But I also wired them up to my turn signals so they are only turn blink whichever side I signal. I also have them to a switch so I can turn them off during the day.

I only use them in rainy weather or dark nights or if I want to race a ricer.

So my LED washer nozzles aren't rice because they have a function... and I haven't gotten in trouble for them yet.

At least you can turn them off whenever you want. Is it all on one switch like a three way or something?

First of all it's not beammers but bimmers. Second of all, those HIDs are standard on most upscale cars like BMW, MB or Audi. They have been approved and are considered legal in all states. Your blue washer lights have no purpose whatsoever other than distract drivers and look stupid thus illegal.

There you go, hurting my feelings Clee. Hehehe, you have a beige car, chrome would look silly on your hood. But when you have those stupid chrome accents coming out of everything on my black car, it actually matches pretty well.

i think you guys are wrong about some stuff

i am fighting a blue ticket law so i have been doing research. From what i have found RED is the only color you cannot have on your car. if its a flashing light, then it cannot be red, white or blue. Of the people who have been given tickets, what color were your lights? also, who said that you cannot have lights on your hood, under or somtehting else. not arguing this, just looking for where this information came from so i can have more for my court case.
