Angry 2018 Nissan Maxima Platinum trim - remote start does not work through Nissan Connect

Purchased a 2018 Nissan Maxima with Platinum trim in December 2017. Remote start does not work through Nissan Connect services from day-1. Raised this issue with customer service and they opened an I.T ticket to resolve this. It's been 1.5 months and still no progress on this issue.

I read several posts here with similar issues. Just checking in here to see if there is something else I can do to resolve this.

PS: Remote start with key fob works with no issues. The problem is only with the app.

2017 Platinum purchased 3/31 and the remote start through Nissan Connect works fine. The only issues I have had was when the car was in an area where the satellite signal was not available. Using android, Samsung S7.

Actually has some pretty neat features....but I just couldn't justify the price for the service and never paid for it after my trial period lapsed.

would you happen to have the other keyfob inside the car when trying to mess around with it? I noticed when I would leave one inside the car that mine wouldn't start up either. Most likely that isn't the case with you but I didn't see anyone else mention that possibility so I figured I would toss that out there.

So I just bought a 2017 SR. Am I not able to use this app? I tried to register and that wouldn't work. Then I called their customer support. She looked up my VIN and says my car doesn't have nissanconnect services. I've been searching like crazy to find out and can't see anywhere. When I bought the car, the sales guy told me to download the app....

My dealership informed me it was unavailable on my 2016 SR. It was only a feature on the Plat.

For the additional monthly cost, be glad you don't have it.

There’s a newer iOS version of the app than shown in the picture above. I have the service and here in Florida I am glad on hot days when I can cool the car down for a few minutes before I get to it. Worth the money to me. They should have one cheaper level though.

Much agree with your point about pricing. It is better than it was though I still see no compelling reason to keep it once the trial on my 19 is over. My remote start off the key fob has fantastic range from the house to the garage.

Yeap, pricing is a little steep in my book, $20 a month so I did not renew. I tried to negotiate a lower price but no go. The android app worked perfectly though, no issues.

Hello I also had similar issues with my newly purchased 16 Platinum. After a few visits to my dealer I called Nissan connect services. It took them a while but they had to transfer meet the bluetooth devision. This was only after having similar issues with my vehicle. The only thing that worked was remote start. Turns out that if you are not the original owner Nissan connect has to reprogram the mechanism. I mentioned it to customer service when I bought the car in April but being a newbie I was dismissed. Also if that picture is your Nissan connect you might be using the wrong app. There are 2. I was told by the dealer that they are migrating from the earlier one to another one. I have included a picture its the app on the bottom. Hope this helps.

the bottom one is the correct Nissan connect app.

Gizmomax, Nissan connect app does connect to the 2017 SR, it just is not enabled for remote start or virtually anything else useful. So definitely not worth setting up nor paying for. I believe that its lack of functionality is mentioned in the manual.

I think that you have to subscribe to the premium service. I believe it’s $20.00 a month. That is the only package that allows you to use all the functions.
