Hey guys. So i have been replacing things and looking at my 4gen for weeks now and i cant figure this out. I have searched and searched and cant find this exact issue that im having so i am hoping someone may have had this problem before.
So randomly my rear windows and door locks stopped working. My front windows and front door locks work just fine with the remote and the switches up front. But it is like the rear is dead. None of the rear window switches work and the rear door locks will not lock i have to manually reach back there and lock or unlock the rear doors. Has anyone had this issue before?

Things i have replaced that didn't fix the issues.

1. BMC(Body Control Module)
2. Master window switch
3. Relay's/Fuses related to locks and windows/accessories

Any information will be appreciated.

You can find wiring charts on the FSM in this forum, or in the Haynes manual.

if this happened on my car I would try to find the wiring connector which serves the rear windows.

I would disconnect that connector. I would check if the connector from the front of the car is getting voltage. If so, I would attach jumper wires from a goid 12v source, and a ground. I would expect each item to work properly.

It's possible that the problm might involve that wiring junction, or the ground which might be attached to it.

I'm talking general theory here. I haven't looked at either the fsm or haynes for this specific issue.​​​​

I have replaced or removed & reinstalled my master window switch a number of times over the years. At least one of those times I had some similar issue with things not working properly. The cause was the wiring harness not being fully seated into the bottom of the master window switch.

If the little locking tab on the harness is bent or broken it may not be locking in place properly and would do the same when swapped to another working switch assembly. Try firmly holding the harness into the switches and test their operation.

 

I would Apply power to both rear doors and windows to verify that the motor and lock actuators work when power is applied...while in there clean all your grounds, inspect the connectors for security and corrosion, check wiring condition...I'm sure it's the master door switch assy.

 

I just looked. The owners manual mentioned rear door child safety locks.

They prevent the windows from moving, also the rear locks. I found them mounted on the rear portions of the doors. They are oval, about 1"×
1-1/2" labeled lock and unlock.
