Air vents stuck

My air vents for my 95 Maxima are stuck and don't want to rotate. If I spray WD-40 or something similar that should free them up? Just want to make sure nothing else was going on with the plastic components.

Don't use WD40. It is not an oil. It will evaporate and you will have accomplished nothing except having the WD40 odor in the car.

A silicone spray would be a better choice.
