Any way to detect what gear you're in?

I'm diagnosing some odd shifting behavior (up shifting way too early) and I'm wondering is there any way to get a readout of what gear you're currently in? My OBDII bluetooth app doesn't seem to include that info. Any other way other than counting shifts?

Also looking at the shift schedule, any idea what the Comfort vs Auto Power means? Is this some hold-out from the 3rd gens which don't apply to 4th gens?
