Hesitation when starting moving from a stop...

Hey everyone --- i have a 2017 nissan maxima. Today it started feeling hesitant when i would start moving from a stop sign or red light... it feels like im pushing the peddle and it doesnt want to go, then all of a sudden it catches up and i have to quickly let off the gas... it doesnt chirp tires or anything but it feels like i said hesitant.. Is this the sign of a failing CVT? i have approx 48k on the clock...

any info would be appreciated.

Could be a defective Throttle position sensor or as you and I would call it, "The gas pedal". Dealer diagnostics would confirm this

first failure was the valve body. second failure was what you described hesitant when you press the gas doesnt go then catches up later. ended up replacing the throttle body, mine still had warrenty at that time. if it gets worse i would def have them look at it. mine was doing that intermittently until it all of a sudden got real bad and the car completely died on me. good luck

valve body that is what nissan is telling me... do you know if that is covered under the powertrain warranty? I am at 48k on the clock so out of the bumper to bumper.

Where would a person look to find out what is and is not covered by the Nissan Factory warranty on the car they own? By golly, Nissan actually put out a booklet that contains that information, and included it in the glovebox of every new car.

Nissan calls theirs "Nissan 2107 Warranty Information Booklet"

Your question is answered on page 6.

If you have lost your copy, you can download a booklet here for free:

This is exactly what mine is doing but since it didn't happen the couple of times the dealer took for a test drive, they are not fixing anything! Did it throw any codes? Dealer says mine is not. 2016 platinum with under 50k miles. Their suggestion was to take a video when it happens!

Yes, same thing is happening to my 2018 Maxima as well. One time it lurched forward and a light and beep went off on my dashboard. Going to have it checked out, hopefully covered under drivetrain warranty
