Which tires should I choose for my 2005 Maxima?

I have to choose between Turanza Serenity Plus 50K or the Turanza QuietTrack 80K ... I have learned that just because something is more expensive doesn't mean it is automatically better.
Can anyone recommend which of these I should choose and why?

I believe you, but the 2 options in the original thread are my only 2 options. Any thoughts on either?

If they were my options, I would go with the quiet tracks. It's a new tire, but the few reviews on tirerack seem promising.

Well, since neither are even remotely a 'performance tire', one assumes you aren't concerned with those aspects so...evidently your preferences center around...what? Long life? Quiet ride? Comfortable ride? All things being equal, I think the QuietTrack simply LOOKS better...so that would be my choice.

TableRocker, Serenity Plus is a very high quality tire. Quiet, performs quite well in dry and very well in wet conditions. Long life is not it's strongest suit, I'd say you're going to get about 30-35k on a heavy car like the Max, especially if you drive it hard. But to discount these as non-performance tires seems a bit out of touch. If you've never used them, don't scoff at them.. I've been using them for quite a few cars now and give them nothing but rave reviews. That said I don't know anything about the Quiet track. But I'd say this to the OP, consider the age of your car, and how much longer you plan on keeping it. Of the two I'd go the cheapest...since it's possible the next major break down of the Max will likely cost more then she's worth.

Don't really have any thoughts on tires from Walmart... You get what you pay for.. Spend the extra money get a quality tire for God's sake..
