2018 maxima today rather than 2019

Hello everyone. This is my first post.

I want to buy a new Maxima from the local dealer but the 2019 model top of the line is quite expensive. However they still have 2018 top of the line models which are being sold at a discount. Would you recommend a new 2018 model today. Apart from the lights and grill, are they any other major differences between the 2018 and 2019 models?

The dealer is also aggressively promoting the 2019 2.5 litre fully loaded Altima. The price of the 2019 Altima is almost the same as the 2018 maxima. I am somewhat confused whether i should go for the Altima instead?

Thanks.

Babar.

Discount is a discount. If you can't justify the price of a 2019, then you sound like you've made the decision, you just need someone to give you a nudge. I'll be the first. Forget the Altima. It's nice, but it's no Maxima, you'll regret it.

As far as the choice between the 18 vs 19, you gotta figure out what you want out of either of them. If you plan on driving them for only a few years, get a lease on the 19. if you plan on buying and keeping, go for the discounted 18...but push hard. With the look of the 19 turning heads, the 18 will be a hard sell unless the discounts are deep, so get them to go low.

Yeah... make them to get the lowest price ever on that 18. No major difference between 18 and 19.

tell them the new body comes out next year they will force to sell old body anyways later on.

Not really sure if new body comes out next year but whatever.

Agree with the posts above and I own a 2019 coming from a 2016. I prefer the Max over the Altima, which is a nice car btw. My views below:

1. V6 vs 4 power.- Max
2. Interior comfort and luxury - Maxima had altima beat, I dislike the tablet like screen in the Altima.
3. Gas Mileage - Altima wins, but my Maxima was never a gas monster.
4. Looks, both look nice, I'll give the 2018 Max an edge. Many times people would talk to me about my car and how they loved it.
5. Some of the extras in the Maxima are worth the premium price vs Altima.
