Will 1998 i30 headlights fit onto a 1996 i30?

Title says it all, my 1996 i30 has the originial headlights that are oxidized, yellowing, and not clear. Restoration attemps have worked for the short term but do not last. I also like the style of 98 and 99 headlights, where you can actually see into the lens of the headlights, without the cross hatch pattern that is apparent on the 96 and 97 headlights.
With that said, if I buy 1998 model headlights can i put them onto my 1996 i30?
They appear to have the same structure and design but through pictures i can't tell if they will fit on properly, plus the parts have different part numbers, so I want to be sure before I purchase new headlights. All i've been told is the headlights changed after 97, along with subframe of the vehicle.

I am pretty sure that on the Maxima, they changed the bumper a bit, so it cannot be done easily on a Maxima, and I suspect that the same would hold true for the Infiniti.

98 i30 lights to a 96 i30 should be no problem.
Newer vehicles received internal structure changes for crash testing/regulations, but the subframe did not change.

I think Rit is talking more about the difficulties of switching maxima lights out for infiniti lights.

Yes, they will fit, but there is a better option.

If you can afford them, get the European headlights for the European Maxima. They are glass, so they won't yellow
They use H4 bulbs.

eBay item #163294678865 and 264133859261. They are used OE headlights

Lower-priced aftermarket headlights:
eBay item #143122770982 and 192925896872

You will need an adapter harness to use the H4 lights. You can get it from rallylights.com

The OEM headlights are better, but the other ones will do
