98-99 Headlights in 96 I30

Good day, I have searched but could not find what I was looking for.

I have a 1996 I30 and I am planning to get my headlights retrofitted. The 96 to 97 headlights are plastic and fluted therefore I should get clear headlights for the HID retrofit.

I know the 98-99 headlights are plastic and clear.

1. Will the 98-99 headlights fit my 96 I30 with no problem?
2. I know about the Cefiro headlights but they are more expensive than the 98-99 headlights. I found a deal on Craigslist for a set of 98 headlights. Are they still good enough for a retrofit?

I posted some pictures below of the headlights. Thanks in advance.

Man, you should've just asked me lol They should fit, just as the '97-'99 Maxima clear plastic headlights fit on '95-'96 Maximas that originally come with flutted glass headlights like your I30.

They're definitely good for a retro. As long as they're not flutted, they're fine. Even if they're a little hazy, I can clear them up as I usually do on my jobs. Shoot me an email or PM when you're ready with the parts.

Thank you all for your replies. Thanks Chris but I think I already emailed you and I thought you did not know the answer. I asked you too many questions and and appreciate all the answers!

I just said as long as they're not flutted, they'll work lol If you would've shown me those two pics then I would've said they'll fit. I'm not too familiar with I30's so I wasn't 100% sure. So grab them and the parts and LMK.

Oh and I forgot to mention.. The black AMP to D2S connectors you have are perfectly fine. Usually they're red and the black ones are the opposite (D2S to AMP connectors) but you're good to go with that.

I am actually trying to look for those headlights for a retro. Or you can get the ebay projector ones from japan that are like $300.

Retro parts have already been ordered. Time for some TL's. NO eBay stuff.
