Cruise control on VQ20DE

Hi !
I'm french and I would like to buy a Maxima A32 with the 2L. But I don't see the steering wheel on the add and I would like to know if there is the cruise control on this engine. I saw on the web, the cruise control was not compatible with this engine. The version of the car is a QX 1999. I would like to know if it's possible to add a cruise control for the 2.0l. Actually, is there a button where is write BC on the command where the cruise control command should be. What I have to do to put the cruise control in replacement ? Thanks a lot from a french man !

If you can see under the hood, there would be 2 cables going to the throttle body.

Cars are built different for different parts of the world. The Maxima QX name is not used in the United States. I think that using QX in the name tells Nissan that the car is made for Europe. All the Maxima cars in the United States have cruise control on them, so we do not have the button with BC written on it. I do not know what this BC button will do.

To add the Nissan manufactured cruise control to the car is very complicated and expensive. You must add an electrical switch to the brake pedal and if the car has a manual transmission, an electrical switch to the clutch pedal. You must add the switches to the steering wheel. You must add a control module for the cruise control under the dash. Under the hood of the car, you must add a vacuum pump that has an electric motor in it and add a vacuum diaphragm with a cable that goes to the throttle body on the engine. To connect all these parts together and have them work, you will have to replace the wire harness under the dash. In the United States, Nissan no longer sells the wire harness. It is probably the same in Europe.

The worst part is that if Nissan did not put cruise control in the 2.0l cars, the wire harness does not exist, it was never made.I might be wrong, but I do not think that you can add the Nissan cruise control to the car. The best you can do is hope that some other company has made a cruise control system that will work with the QX.

The button marked BC on the New Zealand sold 5th generation A33 Maxima was for the "Board Computer" or trip computer. This showed economy, time of travel, average speed etc. The handbook for my previous 4th generation A32 Maxima has a section in the handbook for the trip computer, also with BC written on the button.
