Old pitch means nothing. Drill and tap.

[QUOTE=User1;9217772]Old pitch means nothing. Drill and tap.[/QUOT

I have 2001 Nissan Maxima which recently had the front passenger side lower control arm replaced after the original got bent when I was in an accident. Anyway, the guy who did the replacement managed to strip the two bolts that hold it to the Frame I will load picture to show which bolts I am talking about. Someone mentioned getting a tap and die to fix this situation, but i dont havea non stripped bolt to gefthe right tap and die. So I have two questions: what are the specs for the bolts, where do can i get them; and how do I select the correct tap and die and where do I go for that also???? In the picture you see them both unseated and now one the further away bolt, won't even go back in. I'm not mechanically inclined that I know of, but is this realistically something i should be able to do on my own once I get the stuff needed???

Thanks for any help/advice .you can give me.

Trisha

The part number is 544592Y000, and there doesn't seem to be any dimensional info out there. I imagine that one would need to tap the hole (to clean it up) with the same thread as the new replacement bolt, so one does need to know what the thread is. Get new bolts, and use them to figure out what the thread is.
