Does your 7th gen engine burn oil?

Hello,
I'm just making this thread to see how common for the 7th gen Maximas' engines to burn engine oil. Leaks not included here. Key word is burn oil.
We have an 09 (93k miles) and an 11(96k miles). The 09 burns about half a quart every 2k miles, using Pennzoil Synthetic 5w30. The 2011 doesn't burn a drop.
Otherwise both cars are in excellent condition.
So:
1. Does your engine burn oil?
2. What oil do you use (synth vs dino)? high mileage vs non-high mileage oil?
3. Oil grade

Let me know
Thanks

My 09 SV Sport burns no oil at 70,000 miles
Dealer uses a 5W30 synthetic blend every 5000 miles.

How often you check your oil yourself?

I check all the liquids on my vehicles at least monthly.

My 2010 Maxima with 138,000 miles on it needs a quart before it's 6,000 mile oil change interval, while my wife's 2012 Maxima doesn't it stays almost full right up to its 6,000 mile oil change interval, I use Castrol 5-30 full synthetic with Fram Ultra or Wix oil filters. I think the owners manual says it's normal to have to add oil between oil changes.

My 09 with 440,000 miles doesn't seem to burn any (i say that as it is hard to measure a delta and I change every 5K anyway) I was concerned at one point as I had leaky valve covers. But replaced and all is fine.

Nope. Been running 10w30 Mobil 1 occasionally EP since I got it. Switching to 5w40 Castrol edge for summer.

EP has higher adaptive package for extended intervals, or at least that what Mobil1 claims.

Better shear protection too. Oil looks really beat when I drain it EP or regular syn at 5K intervals.

About half a quart per 5k miles.

Mine burns about half a quart every oil change which is never more than 5k miles.

No burn here, 80K miles and OCIs of 5,000 or 12 months. Use either Mobil1 5W-30 or 0W-30 AFE, although my next change I'm going to go with the 0W-40.

No loss of level between 6,000km changes. 2013 with 109,000km. Pennzoil Platinum 5W30 with Mahle OC711 oil filter.

PUP seems to burn in my engine, something Mobil1 did not.
Though Pennzoil was noticeably smoother.

If you only ran PUP for one interval, not uncommon to get a little consumption when switching formulas. I've never run anything but M1, although I've heard that engine noise/smoothness may be a little worse with the M1. What do you mean by smoother?

This is my second PUP 5w30 interval. You may be right.
Smoother as in smoother and quieter than M1 especially on cold starts.

Never loses a drop.
Valvoline Synpower w/ Maxlife replacing 1qt w/ Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer because I like running a VPS oil system cleaner every 15k and I want to clean SOMETHING out of her when I do.
2007 Sentra 2.0 on the same program and 2001 5.5gen Max previously. Same results.
