1998 nissan maxima problem starting after reconecting a loose cable on the starter

Hi i have a 1998 maxima one day i go to my car to start it and nothing the dash lights dont't even dim first i checked the alarm starter relay end inspected all the things i could see ...than a natural thing was the starter and bingo one of the smaller skinny cable on the starter was complytly off so i did not even bang on the bendix just plaged it back in We have a bunch of cats where i live so that was my first on my mine one of'em was there and since the cable was so loose it came off by cats going in under the motor or simply came off ok so now I'm happy I got the car to crank the motor all nice but I keep on cranking and cranking but no start is it possible that me by turning the key before starter was conected i could burn the fuel pump by priming it over and over by trying to start it with out starter turning a cranking or i primed it to the point spark plugs got wet but i do not smell gas tommoro i;will check spark and buy starting fluid this car started for 5 yrs with first try i mean what could of happen by me trying to start it with starters cable was off just by turning the key i am going to have a friend lissen by the back sit if it still priming or take the house after the filter maybe the lucas treatment i put in a gas tank a week ago picked some dirt and a gas filter is rdy to be changed but i mean starter being disconected and me turning the key over and over would effect the fuel pump pls help

You might have flooded the engine.

So you might need to

1. Remove to fuel pump fuse.

2 hold the gas pedal all the way to the floor.

3 crank the engine for a total of one minuite, in 10 second incriments. Let rest for 15 seconds to cool the starter, repeat.

4 reconnect the fuel pump fuse.

5 see if it will start normally.

flooded maxima 98

Is it possible i could flood the motor with a fuel injectsion? I tryed turning it over with out the fuel pump fuse out but now i need to get a battery or tricle charche this one I have sparcs did not look to great but they do not smell like gas I will let You know how I made out ty JvG

Nissan Maxima alarm

stoped working the lights on the windshiled by the mirrow blink or stay on no light at all on the left side of the stearing wehle new battety in a clicker checked fuse and relay i tryed trics from you tube with 6 times taking key in and out itp I only have a key with no chip just plain metal flat one pls help I really miss the remote start that i liked so much Pls help guys and ty for reply JvG got it going it took some time left it all day in a sunny day and did what You recomended Ty again Help pls

It is possible to flood a fuel injected engine if the starter is used to crank and crank. That's because the injectors are spraying fuel the whole time.
You mentioned that you hado wet spark plugs.
Really no different than a carb engine. Because the carb would keep spraying as well.
Both systems clear out by flooring the gas pedal.
That lets enough air into to the engine to evaporate the gasoline.

I have a very difficult time understanding what you are saying. I'm having problems with grammer and run-on sentences. We are talking about some technical stuff. I can't help if I can't comprehend what you are trying to say.
