I believe I might have two separate issues going on with my 2007 Maxima; with 144,000 miles. Sometimes when I try to start the car especially lately, it takes 2-3 tries. I can hear a noise like a starter solenoid or Bendix of old. I will replace the starter if needed. The other problem is different; when the motor is cold it will try to start, turn over a few times sputter but not keep running, if I pump the gas pedal it will start run at a high rpm then drop back to normal. When running it is smooth and quiet. This acts like a fuel problem but I am not sure. Any help would be appreciated. If someone has changed there starter how hard is it to get to?
