Eliminating 133 governor

Does anybody know a good programmer or ecu tune that will eliminate the governor at 133?

Where or when, in God’s green USA, are you ever going need to exceed, let alone approach, 133 MPH?

Cruise control

Would be nice to raise the cruise control higher than 90 mph though.

Cruisin' at 90+? Don't know if our interstates and their traffic flow would handle this speed here in Ohio. Also, don't know if I would trust our cruise control at that speed. Just me.

well the car gets there quickly and when I was holding my own interstate racing with a Mustang GT then car shuts off and I watched him leave me. I hate that feeling. Plus if you've drove the SR at those speeds you don't even notice it

There's a few places in the Desert Southwest, specifically between PHX and LA or PHX and LV where the speed limit is around 75 and cruising speed for cars is 90+. I've gone literally hours in a caravan of cars doing 90 on the cruise control. Feels just like 70 tbh.Though you might be referring to the lane keeping tech which I missed out on in which case, then yeah def wouldn't trust it to drive itself at that speed haha.

That's a bummer though prolly for the best. Fun fact: The Mustang GT maxes out at 159 apparently according to the guy who most recently broke the Cannonball Run record in a rental Mustang GT lmao

Yeah crazy run wasn't it. I knew the guy who did it in the white Audi 26 hours 38 mins.. He used my Valentine 1 gen 2. Pretty amazing.

It is irresponsible and stupid, not to mention illegal, to race on the street.

In regards to the cruise control, 90 is enough. Texas has a loop around Austin where there is a long segment of an 85 MPH speed limit. Word has it that DPS has a 5 mph tolerance for speed limits that high.

Are there any areas in the US with speed limits at or higher than 90?

Well when you've raced on the street and track for most of your life in higher performance cars built to go fast, never pull stupid stunts and know how to handle a car then it's a little different. Don't give a **** what anybody thinks is "cool" I enjoy driving in genera . I've had a bike that'd hit just over the 200mph mark and cars that'll comfortably hit 170mph. Don't pretend to know something you don't and don't run your mouth to me because your scared of speed.

The stupid stunt is street racing. You should take your own advice about pretending.

Only a fool street races

First of all making uneducated statements about situations you know nothing about is "irresponsible and stupid". When you block off a private road, what's the difference? Ask before you make idiotic comments

Some idiots should never race anything anywhere. People pull stupid stunts and takes risks they shouldn't. What's the difference in blocking off a private road, which I have done, and going to a track? And your telling me you've never have the car a little more throttle between stoplights to get ahead of another car? That's considered street racing.

Wow, that's real funny. I have asked a couple of simple questions on this forum and maybe gotten one or two actual answers. Then there's an overabundance of jackasses that seem to have this incessant need to make these idiotic comments that have no relevance to the question, real tough guys attempting to demean someone for asking a question. I'm on a couple of other car forums and have never seen this abundance of people that lack the intelligence to answer the question without being an arrogant *****.

By your response and need to make idiotic statements like these that have no relevance to the question, it sounds like you are describing yourself! I have no need to hide behind anything nor made any attempt to try. I asked a simple question and several insecure sounding children felt the need to make irrelevant comments about topics they know nothing about. The purpose of car forums is to exchange knowledge, information and experiences with the vehicle. Not to be a smartass ***** with no knowledge of the topic.

i understand you. 8th gen forum guys seem like old ****heads. i have high hp cars which I have gotten over 180 and I also street race and I have an r1m. to answer your question, take it to a tuning shop and get the ecu remapped. while ur there, u might as well get it dyno tuned to sqeeze out some more hp. no more governor, more power. probably will void warranty though. good luck.

Thanks for the reply, I do appreciate it. Have you heard of any plug and play options just for the governor?
