02 Sensor Woes

hey all!

trying to lay this issue to bed once and for all

99 Cali Spec Maxima

i was getting these codes
P1168 (closed loop control function bank 2)
P0150 (bank 2 sensor 1 malfunction)

so i

cleaned the MAF sensor
changed the 02 sensor fuse
changed the bank 2 sensor 1 02 sensor

now i get a

P0154 (bank 2 sensor 1 no activity detected)

there are no noticeable symptoms except that if it's sat a few days, the car often takes 2 attempts to start. it cranks but doesnt turn over. if i try again it turns over just fine.

what might be the issue? vacuum leak? the wiring looks fine but i am not sure how to check it all the way back to the module - at any rate, doesnt seem likely the wiring got damaged upstream.

any thoughts?

When you say cranks but doesn't turn over, are you saying that the starter motor spins the engine but it doesn't start running ?

yes - i turn the key, the starter spins the engine and it cranks, but doesnt start running. i turn it all off and turn the ignition again and it starts up just fine. that usually happens when the car has been sitting a while -

What if you just turn the key to on for about 5 seconds, not start, and let the fuel pump pressurize the fuel lines, and then try to start it. Does it start first time ?

ya that seems to do it MOST of the time - but occasionally it still needs two cranks....

and mostly i am just frustrated the CEL is still on, even though i changed the O2 sensor -

what else should i try??
