2014 Maximum S - Fog Light install

Hello everyone,
I am new here. Do you have pics to show how to install fog lights on a 2014 Nissan Max S?
Whats is completed already
1. Fog lights installed in the bumper and already connected to pre-wired harnesses.
2. Fog light switch inserted in the slot below steering wheel only.

I need help figuring out how to connect the switch that is under the steering wheel to turn off and on the fog lights already installed. My steering wheel turn signal does not have the fog light option on it. Can anyone help on how to hook this up, please?

Thank you,
Angel

Just found out that I would need the kit to make this easier. I bought the fog lights separately on amazon and thought it would be an easy install (didn't know I would need to change out the column light switch), but I guess my question now is can I just buy the column switch separately? and where? I tried searching everywhere...and nothing. Is it possible to use the prewired fogs with the under steering wheel button the fogs came with? Not sure what wires I would use for this.

In your situation I would do this. You can mount the relay in the engine bay, You only need one wire to run from inside the vehicle to the relay. You use the switch provided with the fog lights to turn on the 12V relay. The relay provides power to the fog lights.

So i am going to have to run the wires from the bottom located switch (below steering wheel) to the fuse box on the driver's side, correct? And perform this connection, just the switch signal wire diagram?

Run one wire to get 12VDC from the drivers side interior fuse box to the switch the other wire from the switch needs to run to your relay in the engine compartment.

Can't tell what your wires are from the pic, but basically follow the diagram nopike posted. The relay should have numbers on it like in the diagram.

1) Connect the foglights to 87
2) Connect a ground wire to 86 and ground it on a screw somewhere with an unpainted surface or to the negative battery terminal
3) Connect 30 to positive battery terminal (with an in-line fuse) or get a fuse tap and tap into the fog lamp slot
4) Connect a wire to 85, run the wire into the interior, connect one end of the switch to it, then tap the other end of the switch into a fuse in the interior fuse box. I'd tap into something that's only on in the ACC On position, like heated seats.

Basically what's happening is the relay switches on when it gets power, so it'll get power from the interior fusebox if the switch is closed. When it gets power from the switch, the relay connects your lights (87) to your battery (30) so your lights get power. When you open the switch, it'll cut power to the relay and the disconnect the power to your lights.

The interior fuse box is by the OBD2 port, just pull this door off and you'll see it. My guess is the kit didn't come with fuse taps so you might need to get some.

Your fog lights should have come with instructions on how to hook up the wires. Between that and the instructions we provided that should help. Otherwise find someone with some basic electronics knowledge to help you.

Do you know a good way to run a wire from the interior to the engine bay? I ended up cutting a hole in the grommet for the door wiring harness and feeding it through the quarter panel. I was trying to feed it through the factor harness going through the firewall but it seemed too tight.

Your choice through the quarter panel is probably the best way to go.

I fed mine through the firewall near/below the steering wheel, there is a large gromet there. It was tight and I would not necessarily advise others to go that route. It was tight and it is possible to damage existing wiring when doing this.

I use my high beams as half power daytime running lights, that is why I ran a wire for a switch thru the firewall.

Thanks. I was thinking about running it next to the hood release cable but figured it might wear out the wire eventually since it moves.

If you have more questions feel free to ask or dm me. I spent probably a month trying to figure this stuff out since there wasn't much on the forums.
