sporadic starting issues

Hey all. New Maxima owner here. So Ill get right to it. I bought a 2010 Maxima SV a few months ago. Over the winter, twice now Ive gone out to start it, and nothing. Crank crank crank. Push start, and crank crank crank. However, when I pushed the gas pedal down during these episodes, It finally fired. Im also experiencing rough low idle, and poor performance at low rpm/low speeds. Could this be a fuel pump issue? As it stands, I cant depend on it. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated before I take it to the dealership and get soaked.

Did you check for any codes. It sounds like it could be a dirty mass air flow sensor.

I did not, as I dont have a code puller, and the engine light has not popped up yet. Is this a code autozone could pull? Ive been leary of using their service after taking my dodge charger there, and being told the code could mean 8 different, unrelatable things, lmfao.

Yes Autozone can pull any codes if they are present. If you do have a code then do a Google search of that code meaning and fixes. It's a good place to start. Your hard starting and rough idle situation is classic of a dirty MAF sensor. The MAF is cleanable and there is good write ups about how to do it. Try a search on google. I would do the cleaning first before I took it to the dealer.

Thank you! That was a really good response. It makes a lot of sense, and makes for a good jumping off point. Now, do you know anything about the popping noises Im hearing from the suspension? I know its worn, but i can make them pop with simple acceleration and let off. all around its bad. are these bushing issues?
