Another exhaust ? (Did search)

OK. here's the deal. I was planning on getting a greddy cat-back in the spring because my existing muffler was shot. But I did not have the funds. So I just go to a local shop and had them put on a cheap $45 muffler. I mean it is a pea shooter. With the old muffler i could reach 115-120 easy, but now with this pea shooter, once i hit 105 the car doesn't go any faster. It just stays at 105. Is it because the muffler? I have a PR CAI and i thought that would help, but it doesn't. If it is the muffler, i'm thinking of buying a 3rd gen. SE muffler. Does anybody know a website that sells the SE mufflers? Thanks. Richard

Well if nothing else has been changed then yes I suppose it MUST be the muffler... Probably some cheap generic muffler that flows worse than factory.

www.warpspeedperformance.com They sell a OEM looking muffler for $75 that'll be an upgrade. Search for "wsp muffler" or something recently and you'll find a very nice writeup someone did on their install of it.
If you really want a cheap OE muffler try posting a WTB on the parts forum.

just a tip, my exhaust guy does a cat back for 75 bucks for 2.5" mandrel bend without muffler. so i wouldn't do a "bolt on" catback. . . just too much $$$!!!

it's not SS, but you can get it. it's aluminized and has a 4 year rust warrenty. um, he bent my Y pipe, and i'm please with it. he charged me 500 for y pipe, high flow cat, 3" mandrel bent, and the dual exhaust.
