Extended Warranty - living in Florida

I am looking to purchase a Nissan Extended Warranty for my 2020 Nissan Maxima.

72 months/75,000 miles.

I contacted a Nissan dealer in California that was recommended in the forums.

I was quoted a price of $1,421.00

But because I live in Florida, I was told that I can ONLY purchase a Nissan Warranty from a “Florida” Nissan dealer.

I have called several Florida Nissan dealers in the Tampa Bay Area (where I live).

All 6 Florida dealers are quoting me a minimum price of $2,561.00.

Has anyone else living in Florida purchased a Nissan Extended Warranty?

Thank you in advance for any feedback.

Florida must be selling the super-duper solid platinum version of extended warranty. They can’t be serious.

So this is a Nissan branded warranty? Can you clarify with the CA dealer it can be bought there? Via email? Keep in mind the factory warranty covers the drive train to 60000 miles w/o any add-on coverage. It all depends how long you keep the car.

I looked up the Florida law, here it is...

Service Warranty Overview (myfloridacfo.com)

"A service warranty contract can be written by a Service Warranty Association who is licensed pursuant to Section 634.403, Florida Statutes, or by an authorized insurance company who is authorized to write this line of business."

Out of state dealers would have to licensed in Florida to sell you a policy effective in Florida.

Yes, the Nissan Security+plus Plan. I was told by the California dealership that they can not provide this warranty to any Florida residents. I'm plan to keep the car for 5 or 6 years. So, I need the 72 months. Thank you for your feedback!
