Extended Warranty Issue!
Extended Warranty Issue!
I am looking for advise here. I have a 2k3 Max SE and my girl has a 2k2 Sentra SE-R. When we bought these from the dealership we specifically asked for "NISSAN" extended warranty on these cars. We did get an extended warranty, however I recently discovered it is through a third party. When we received the documents it did say "Auto X-Tend", I just thought that was Nissan's "name" for their extended warranty. Keep in mind that I specifically asked for NISSAN warranty, and the person doing the paper work did say it was NISSAN's extended warranty. Now I understand that she twisted the meaning of "NISSAN Extended Warranty" meaning that is it an Extended Warranty that you are buying throught this NISSAN dealership.
What I need to know is, what can I do so they give me a full reimbursment and give me the actual NISSAN EXTENDED WARRANTY (if possible)?
I know that I signed a contract and it is binding.
I am only looking for suggestions NOT FLAMES!!!!

Nissan Corporation does not offer an extended warranty. They outsource them which makes sense because it doesn't make Nissan liable for problems. It shouldn't concern you anyway, when the car has trouble, just bring it in for repair to your dealer. They will bill your warranty company for the work. You still get Nissan service and parts.
Your dealership sold you an extended warranty for your Nissan. So whats the problem?

But the main point is that, I specifically requested NISSAN NA warranty! If NNA wants to outsource it that is up to them, but my main contact would be NNA.
"Nissan Corporation does not offer an extended warranty"
I don't think this is true - at least not here in Canada. My extended warranty has Nissan logos all over it, and makes no mention whatsoever of another company. Even the brochures that came with the Platinum coverage I opted for are completely nissan, with no mention of an underwriter or anything...

I see your point there. Don't take this the wrong way, but didn't you read the contract that came with the extended warranty to see what is really covered BEFORE you signed it? Maybe you are covered for towing. Maybe some TSB points will be covered by your extended warranty.
Most likely your only covered for major items like sensors, tranny, and major engine components like alternator, water pump, power steering system ect. Go back and read your extended warranty and really decide if it's worth it for you before you cancel it.

Yes I did, and the contract said "EXTENDED WARRANTY". Now I had to sign another paper that said "Auto X-Tend", and like I said before the person assured me that this is Nissan's extended warranty and I just thought that "Auto X-Tend" was Nissan's name for their extended warranty program.

He's right, I worked for Nissan for 2 years, and they have their own extended warranty. I think it's called protection plus?? And it comes in silver, gold, and platinum.

I don't have it on my 2k3 yet, but I had it on my 2k and it was DEFINITELY through Nissan. It was Silver Protection Plus.
