Maxima 8th gen proplem while coasting

Hi everyone , when i take my foot off the gas padel the RPM go slightly up and the car feels like it's braking and being hold , the it just feels like it's being released and stop breaking and the RPM go higher then comes down quickly.
this all happens while I'm coasting , and i know it's kinda normal , but i know how the normal is because now it doesn't feels normal.
Please if any one can help i can send a video to which will explain much better

How many miles? Maybe somebody smarter than us will jump in. Have you serviced the CVT? My CVT fluid was black at 40000 miles.

it's around 34,000 miles and no service yet , but this only happens in the afternoon when the temperature is around 50 C° or about 122 F° , in the winter or at night it doesn't happen

My husband complains of this too but he has only been driving it since October so we haven't hit 122 yet. I remember thinking it was normal but now driving my Ram ( which coasts forever!) maybe it's not.

I would chalk it up as engine braking. I first noticed this in my 2007 Altima that I couldn't just coast like normal in my prior cars. I went to the dealership and they told me it was engine braking which they described as a safety feature. I found something online saying the dealer could do a reprogram to remove it and took it back, dealer wanted something crazy like $400 to do it which I declined.

At that point I had discovered a way around it and its been true for both of my Max's after the Altima. When you want to coast you need to feather the pedal. There is a small point where you can get it to not engage the engine braking and not accelerate so it functionally coasts and you can reap the mpg benefits. Once you get used to this it'll be second nature.

yup as being a mechanic for 40 years , I like what it does. Easier on brakes! It takes some getting used to but why would you want to reprogram to get rid of it? I have 6000 miles on my 2020 Maxima Platinum. The only problem I have is I don't get enough time to drive it!
