Spark plugs - a must do maintenance item?

Can any longer term damage be caused by not changing spark plugs? 2010 with 165k, they ve never been changed. I know I’m due per maintenance manual but just checking to see if it’s really necessary or not.

Yes it is necessary. They wear out. Nothing lasts forever.

Yeah, you are due...especially given the cost of gas. You will eventually run rich as not all the gas is burned which will then clog your cats and then really bad things happen. You will probably note some p0300 codes in your future and high carbon on valves and pistons and even gas contamination in your oil. Now i have gone 150,000 on a set and they looked new when i replaced them, but I travel highways. So first chamge at 100k, second at 225k, third at 375,000 and that was going to be it....but with Covid, i havent done more than 10k in the last two years, so it although i am over 455,000 now, i may change them before the half a milliomile mark if i dont see the mileage pick up!

I threw these in mine if you're looking to live on the wild side, Lt. No issues...and a little better mileage.

They are the same size and have the same heat range as the iridium's. I figure if they lessen the stress on the coil packs, by being more efficient, then win-win.

They are the 3rd set of plugs that I have put in the car, and the only time I saw in increase in my MPGs; anecdotal evidence...
