NEED HELP...its not a Maxima, but a J30t

Hi,

I've owned a 93 Infiniti J30t for about a week now. Its an awesome car. However, I have this small problem. Today the dashlights started to act up. The radio and climate control lights work ok with the headlights off. As soon as i switch on the parking lamps or headlights...the radio and climate control lights go out...and the speedo, tach, and window control switches do not light up. I checked all the fuses but they checked out ok. Any body know what it can be? tahnks guys

This probably won't help, but I had the same problem when I installed my in dash changer. As soon as I turned on the lights, ALL illumination on the changer went out. Turns out, I didn'y hook up one of the illumination wire controls.

However, your problem seems to affect EVERYTHING, from the gauges to the center console headunit and climate control.

I guess I'd check the dimmer switch, don't know what else it could be. Could be a faulty dimmer switch maybe?

Yep...gotta be the dimmer switch. Turn it all the way to the right.

No the J30 is not a fancy Altima.

Unless the figured out how to convert the Altima to rear wheel drive and put a VG30DE in the front...
