First time posting on this site, thanks. I have a question regarding my alternator/voltage regulation. Does this generation have a Variable Voltage Control System? Or does the regulation come from the alternator itself? I am trying to help with voltage drop when my aftermarket subwoofers hit.. Ive been searching and searching how to disable the voltage control to the ecm but I cant find much if anything on my 2007 Maxima for such purposes. There is a yellow/black wire going to the alternator plug and I am also wondering if simply cutting the yellow/black wire will be my solution. I dont drive my vehicle much however my battery and alt are both in working order. I dont know much about batteries so I was thinking about getting a car audio grade lithium for the trunk but I dont want to limit its voltage neither and completely defeat the purpose. Please advise if possible. Thank you
