HELP!!! Battery keeps draining after replacement and alternator is reading 14.5 volts
So it all started 2 weeks ago when my 2017 Nissan Maxima died while driving. Jumped it with a booster and it kept dying and set off code P062f. Replaced the battery and check engine light cleared and hasn't come back on, but the airbag light has come on and went off a couple of times. Fast-forward to yesterday and car died again while driving (at this point I had driven the car about 200 miles on the new battery but not all in one trip) I was able to limp to a gas station and jump the car but as soon as I put the car in gear it would die again. After about 30 mins of sitting I was able to jump the battery and pull the car up the hill where it had previously died and into a parking spot. What on earth is causing this? The battery is new and the alternator is testing out at 14.5v. My cousin seems to think it's the ECM....Thoughts???
I suspect that your alternator is toast. 14.5 is a bit too high and the voltage regulator is malfunctioning. Did you perform a proper load test on the alternator with a multimeter while the car is running?
I believe the max voltage reading you should see is 14.1
How many miles do you have on your 2017 Max? If you have a lot of miles and this is the original OEM alternator, it may be time for replacement.

Most likely, if this is a parasitic drain, you're not gonna find it by staring at it. You need to go to a shop with a dealer-level scan tool. I say this because this happened to another car I have, and it wound up being the blower motor resistor stayed shorted out,
It’s at the repair shop now and they say it’s the alternator. I guess they let it run a while and said it was running on battery alone. I’ll get it back later today and will update further. Cost is going to be $729 ouch.
