battery light goes on and off...then everthing dies

i just replaced my alternator, i went out to test it and noticed the battery light goes on when around 1k when accelerating, and when i'm crusing it comes off. after i went off the exit ramp the speedometer dies and eventually the whole car dies and never starts back up. i still have a feeling it's the alternator, but what else could it be, ECM, connections....

My car did that when my alternator died. It in affect drains the battery, and that's what you get (dead car).

Get the alt tested and the battery tested as well.

I think that's the least of your problems...

But really, make sure the Alt is connected properly and have the battery tested.

if you battery is dead for too long, it'll just be wasted and not store any power at all.... what's weird is your alternator is supposed to keep your car running even if the battery is dead after you started it.
like they said, check alternator output and battery

I think it's more like:

His alternator blew and flipped his car into a river full of boulders.
