Owner of a 18 SL. My light keeps going off for some reason. It causes my cruise control not to work as well. Once my car is shut off it goes off until something triggers it again. Very frustrating.

After hitting a raccoon doing damage to the underneath of my car I noticed it came on sometimes. After getting my car back from the body shop where they made the repairs and replaced the right side sensor on my bumper it’s still doing it. Could this be from the accident or is it a coincidence this happened??

If this only started happening after running over a racoon, then yeah, that's probably the cause of the problem. I'm not up to speed on the newer cars, but it's possible the system needs to be "relearned" after a new sensor was installed. It's also possible the wiring leading to the sensors was damaged and needs to be repaired.
