I am older but a beginner car guy. I bought a 2017 Nissan maxima platinum at auction with hail damage. The damage was so bad that the sunroof was shattered. Along with a great glass guy, we replaced the sunroof and dropped the headliner and vacuumed out all the glass pieces – what a chore. In doing so I broke a hook to the deflector (see last picture). This piece slides in the track.
When I spoke with the parts guy at the Dealership he felt the part was included in part 91280-4RA1A, a person I chatted with at a website for OEM parts felt the same. However, see pics below, the diagram doesn’t clarify. The picture of part 91280-4RA1A on all the websites doesn’t include the hook. Notice the middle pictures I posted with the hook and without the hook. The deflector needs 2 hooks, I broke 1.
If anyone has any advice please share. I have thought about not replacing the original deflector and buying a deflector that sticks to the top.
Any ideas about the right part or next steps? Thanks. Diagram of part My picture of part without hook. My picture of part with my good hook. The broken hook -- I tried JB weld glue but it didn't work -- likely user error.
