Long story short, my windows magically lowered themselves after I left my car in the driveway two nights ago.I know that I did not leave them down, so I am just learning that you can trigger this from your key fob accidentally.Anyway, a rainstorm came through overnight conveniently enough and to my surprise in the morning…I see that the driver side window is ALL the way down, the passenger side is about 30% down, and my back windows are cracked. I started the car to put them all back up,made sure child clock was off,and only the back windows will come up with the “master” switch and work as normal.The passenger side window switch is also not working/pulling the window back up and I can no longer lock the car using the lock button on the master switch-only the fob.I do not hear *any* noise…no “whirring” or anything trying to engage when using the master switch. Im sure the rain caused the damage but considering I’ve only performed basic maintenance, I know **** all about electrical stuff.I believe I’ve ruled out the regulator and motor since there’s no sign of the usual crunching sound that people report with that and the other windows work + lights on the buttons work. Only conclusion left is the switch. My question is…would it be a safe bet to just hit a junkyard and pull one from another maxima,get a generic switch that supposedly fits,or is this one of those MUST buy new situations?…Not excited at all about possibly having to pay $400+ for a new switch(if that’s even what the problem is)but I can’t leave this be much longer, so just looking for some insight before I spend unnecessary money or rip something up that didn’t need to be.

 

Amazon from the switch doctor has them around $90. I replaced mine in 2015 and it was still working until i retired the old girl earlier this year. Note: there are two versions that look alike. One has the auto up/down and the other not. Please make sure you get the correct one.
