passenger window.....stuck...rain coming
passenger window.....stuck...rain coming
Long story short....last week "somebody" forgot to close all the driver front window in the maxima...and guess what..it poured that night....next day everything worked fine until the evening hours...passenger window went down...and never went up again....couple hours later i manually rolled up the window(figuring that i was going to work on it this weekend).
An hour ago my wife pressed the window switch(by accident - it didn't work since memorial) and it went down....with no intentions of coming back up.
Heres what i noticed...
Its the passenger front window that does not work together with the lock switch.
Down/Up does not work thru driver side button neither.
All other windows work fine.
Passenger side window/lock buttons do not light up with lights on, wait it gets better....they do light up when window button is pressed to lower the window.
My conclusions:
A. Driver side main switch is shorting something out (due to open window in rain)
B. Pass side switch is busted
C. There is a elec short by the switch.
I know this is a lot to read...but it's supposed to rain reaaalllly bad tomorrow in chicago and i need some help.
PS. I did search for info with no success.
Thanks in advance

Point of this tread? i don't really know....maybe im wrong on my conclusions and maybe somebody out there had the same problem and knows the solution...
i mean if i have to buy the drivers side switch just to find out that it was not the problem....thats a lot of $$$ to go out the window
don't you think?
Update:
I just took the door panel off and the switch did light up for a bit...but stupid me
started playing with it...up/down...up/down....yea
and now i`m back to the starting point...
I`m thinking main drivers switch is dead but i`m hoping that is not the case...
please advise...
thanks

also there is a reset botton can reset the position when use auto up/down.
i did hair dry them on the day that it stopped working....unfortunallty with no results
I did notice some corrosion/residue on some of the contact (solder tips) points on the pass button on the driver side switch...cleaned it...no effect...
Multimeter shows anywhere from 4 to 12 volts on contact points in driver main switch except pass button... all i got was one reading showing 12+ volts and thats it....
does any one has a wiring diagram for window switches for maxima...i just wanna verify before ordering the driver main switch....

Note to Nissan
Why in the world would you design something like that??? I mean it does not let any thing thru if a failure occurs...
Just FYI
This is my second problem with the car since new...almost 110k on odo...

Well as far as i got with disassembly is getting the buttons and plastic trim off...after that it gets complicated...one would have to de-solder all the connections to get to resistors/relays ets. and i just dont feel like going thru all that trouble at this point....
I know that this would be the cheapest way of fixing it....but who has the patience and time to do that? haha
Thank you
