2016 Nissan Maxima transmission issues
2016 Nissan Maxima transmission issues
So, recently my car started to making a hissing noise when I first turn the car on. While the car is idling after starting it the noise it pretty loud you can hear it coming from under the driver seat which is where the trans is located. After a while, the car quiets down but when I drive the car I hear the hissing noise again going from like 0-30mph. I noticed that sometime the car jerks & lags when I go on a green light as if it is struggling to accelerate which it is. The rpm jumps up & down in this situation like as if the car is slipping gears. I think it’s the pulley & metal belt inside the trans. The problem definitely seems to be internal damage/misfires. So I only go about 55 max. Does anyone think I should have the trans rebuilt or just get another transmission? Looking at about 2K in labor including parts hopefully. Anyone can help so I can know if I’m correct.
Your "Poll" made me chuckle, as there is no wrong Yes or No answer.
Rebuild trans or buy a whole new trans
Yes to rebuild trans or buy a whole new trans
Or
No to rebuild trans or buy a whole new trans
Just so you know, there is no such thing as a "whole new CVT" or trans as you call it, that you can buy from Nissan.
All CVT's that you would purchase from a Nissan dealer are factory rebuilt.
