gas pedal randomly stops working
alright, ive been on this journey with Nissan to figure this out but none of us can figure out what's wrong. longer post so be ready lol.
I have a 2016 maxima sv, it's been great but about a year ago now my gas pedal would randomly stop working after driving a while or pretty quickly. it used to only do it when the cars outside temperatures read 90+. I would be driving normally hit my break to slow down due to traffic then my gas pedal would just not work, car was running, no bad sounds, rpms would drop like im off the gas and I would repeatedly hit it until it would work or id have to pull over and restart the car and carry on. sometimes it only does it once or five times in a day. never constant, I took it to Nissan for diagnosis nd after 3 months of no car they got into contact with Nissan usa. test after test Nissan usa would review it and they found nothing. the car had no check engine lights, didn't run rough, it was taken care of while I have it. I got it back right at almost 4 months later and just gave up on trying to fix it. went for about 4 months with not doing anything and now its back with other problems, the car randomly goes into "limp mode" it acts like it only has 10% power and not the full 100% I have to restart the car every time.. read some forums posted in the maxima fb group and was recommended to replace the break switch because my break lights were now staying on. so I replaced it, drove two hours into a different state and on my way back the car lost all the power. tried to restart it, didn't work. tried again but put the old switch back and my break lights were stuck on. put the NEW one BACK in and let the car sit for 15-20 minuets. carried on like nothing happened the whole time. I never have any check engine lights or any lights period. the battery is new, alternator was supposedly "fine" when it was tested and I run good gas. I spoke with a Nissan out of state into a bigger city and he said it could be related to a break issue (break light could be bad and have a short and tells the car im on both pedals and it cuts the gas OR esc module and a list of other things with the breaks) im not getting rid of the car I love it, its my second 16 sv I just want to figure this one out, any help would be really appreciated. thank you!

It is surprising htat Nissan cannot diagnose the problem, and that it would take months to do the assessment. That is simply unbelievable unless they are totally incompetent. I had a Mercedes that exhibited those symptims and it was the switching matrix in the transmission (valve body) that was failing. But there never was a big mystery at the dealership...
