Went to buy my SE today

My dad and I went out looking at a car today, my first car. I saw it on cars.com and talked to the guy on the phone and we set up a meeting. Well the car was nothing what the guy said. He said it was fully loaded Maxima SE and it was a base GXE. Told me 76k miles. 176k miles. Told me great body and mechanical condition, wasn't. Why are people such lying ***********. I'm so ****ed right now.

Ye thats what salesman do.. theyre scumbags, go buy at an auction your best bet and price or buy of hands. Never buy from a dealer.

It was a private owner. My dads a dealer and just hasn't gotton a trade yet that I'd want so sometime soon I'll go to the auction with him. He goes to Manheim every friday, the biggest auction in the world.

The guy knew nobody is going to come look at a base model POS car with lots of miles and problems. He figured it he lied he'd get somebody out there and maybe they'd buy it. When you do this stuff, ask for the VIN so you can run a carfax report since you'll probalby do it before you actually buy the car anyway. It save you from looking at cars that have been in major accidents or aren't what they are advertised as.

Good luck.

When I went to Bordentown I didn't like it too much. But maybe it's changed since I've been there. I've been to Manheim and it seemed to be the best I've been too. I've also been to Orlando, Baltimore, Hatfield and Adesa. Thanks for the tip though.

I dont know, i was in all 3 of them this summer, I dont know how its is now, but manheim is only good for newer cars, not older ones, id say newburgh had the best selection of 3rd gen and pretty cheap.

Yeah, I hate when people don't know what they have. I drove all the way through LA to see a Max when I was looking for mine. Turned out the car was an auto, and the guy wasn't even there.

What a waste of 4 hours.

Maybe it's my imagination, but isn't Bait-And-Switch illegal? I think he can be fined considering he lied flat out to you, even gave you a fraudulent VIN (by fraudulent I mean different).

Everything he did was illegal but my dad doesn't feel like going through the trouble of calling the cops. He's stupid and lazy, i'll get him to do it sometime this week i hope.
