You dont need hoodpins, but definitely a good safety measure. Mine rattles when i speed up too much, but carnal_30 says that you can adjust the latch to correct that... we sorta tried that with mine at FI, no luck.. i gotta shave my rubber bump things. All in due time.

Matthel: hey man, just make 100% sure its in stock b4 you make that trip. I agree that 560ish shipped would kick rear, considering i paid 450 picked up, on the last gd..

They are in Southern Cal. I will email them on Monday for people with more Q's. I'll see if he can cut some cost for people that want to pick them up. Try to let me know if you are in or not. I will update my original post to keep track of who's in and who's not.

I've been thinking about doing this since the hood on my '95 got all chipped up. Timing is kind of bad for me since I just ordered leather seat covers from the other group deal. Keep us posted here though...if the price goes to around $450 like the other group deal, I could justify it.

How would it look on a dark green car? Most guys that get this have black right? I wonder if it would look dumb.

Hmm, not usually past 120. But wind is sometimes a factor...

I'm definitely in, if we get at least one other person for 3+ or better.

I'm local so I will pick it up and save shipping charges.

Update

It will take about 2-4 weeks after you guys placed the order. Price should be about $500 for those that want to pick up in So. Cali. Don't quote me on this though. He told me he still needs to drive and pick it up himself. I might start giving out info once we reach 6.

2-4 weeks is fine. It will probably take that long to get my car into the shop and fix it. Let us know soon though, because I need to get the ball rolling on this.

if you show up there, they will drill the hood & put your nozzles in for you, if you like. i dont havem in, dont care. this is SoCal, rarely need them.

as for hood struts.. no.. youll break your hood if you use hydraulic struts made for 60-70lbs hood on a 15lb hood.. and no1's found custom hood supports yet.. so thats that.

i have 2 pieces of wood in my car, and one in my garage.

Dave, how many people on the 1st GD? One more question... How hot does the CF hood get? I want to see if I need insulation underneath to keep the paint from cooking (I'm gonna paint it). Thanks!

I think Malik was gonna try to get a standard hood prop from another car... There is a hole that looks like it could be used on his CF hood.

Nice.

Talk to Josh if you guys call. he's usually the best one there to ask about pricing.

remember, freight runs about $100.

they also make carbon KEVLAR too. dont forget if u wanna be 1 off. but thats also another $100 or so.

they make good stuff. just be persistant. better buy soon too. heh.

--Cheston
ps. i'd recommend pins btw. i know it looks gross. but. safe than sorry.

I dunno.. maybe like 7 or 8?

As for how hot.. also no idea.. but i think the paint should be able to handle it.. think how hot a black car can get driving thru the desert.. (mines black)

Chunger, the CF hood runs really cool... like ALOT cooler than the stock hood after driving it forever it still is only warm to the touch... the thing you might have to watch out for his the flexing that the hood does... if you dont use the BEST paint (I'd suggest the paint we use on the bodykits) it'll crack and get jacked up

Dave/Malik, thanks for the feedback. I know that on regular hoods without insulation, the paint will start to discolor real quick.

I plan to paint it at the dealer who did my Stillen lip and mudguards. I can't imagining having to use flex agent. I'll avoid it if possible due to the color change.

I'm not really sure, but the hood flexs ALOT on the freeway, even if ya put hoodpins in it... maybe next time i'm down there i'll show ya
