darksands, Long Beach. Check out the website www.motivational.net and also www.fiberimages.com . Red would probably be carbon kevlar and run about $100 extra going by the last GD. Installation isn't hard, check out www.maximadriver.com in the HOW2 section.

Turbo95Max, I doubt if we can get anything other than a 'stock' hood.. You would have a body shop cut the hood and put in a fiberglass vent. It probably won't look too good unless you paint it afterwards... I was thinking the same thing... but on the other side. A few people with MKIII have a vent over their turbos, though they used steel ones in their stock hoods.

Deadline is this Friday as is all the other information in this long thread.

Just want to let you guys know I sent him an email with my contact number. I know if I call them, they tend to be busy. He hasn't call me yet. I would have order earlier, but school work is setting me back a bit, those of you still in school know what I'm talking about. Sorry for the delay though.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. What's this about "if we dont get 6 people this isn't going to happen." The group deal states contingency prices for different amounts of people, the cheapest price being if we get 6 or more people. If we end up with 5 people, and because we are one shy of 6 this doesn't happen, there are going to be 5 steaming mad Maxima owners here. I want my friggen hood, even if I have to pay extra because we only get 5 people. Its still WAYYYYYYYYYYYY cheaper than you will find it anywhere else.

I'll say this again for you guys who haven't been able to reach him on the phone: call him shortly after they open or late afternoon before they close. Their hours are 9-5 pacific time.

BTW, I spoke to a guy named Mike. I don't know who Brian is, but it really doesn't matter I'm sure. JUST GET YOUR ORDER IN IF YOU WANT A HOOD!!!. I'm itching to get my hood on the way and I'm going to flip if this deal falls through.

Where do you see anything mentioned about $650?

If you are outside CA its $575 shipped. If you are within CA its $560 shipped. Pickup is $500. Assuming we get 6 people that is. According to the original prices quoted by amixam, I would assume that if we only have 5 people then it would be $575 shipped in CA, $590 shipped elsewhere, but don't quote me on that because I haven't seen it explicitly stated anywhere.

My bad on the wrong name...

The problem will be if we DON'T reach the 6... Then that puts others in the position... are we willing to pay the higher price... which leads to the possible # going down again and hence another higher price...

We will have to see the FINAL # people by Friday and go from there.

As far as I know, we only have 4 confirmed orders... there may be others but they didn't post.

I just sent an email to everyone who expressed interest but hadn't committed. I got an email back from one guy, but because this site doesn't allow us to view people's email addresses, I'm not actually sure who it was. I think it was maxed up. Whoever it was, they said they are definately IN. I emailed him back and asked him if he'd paid yet. I'll keep you posted.

So, does this mean if I order the hood, you'll be nicer to us automagic owners?

I'll try again later, I called earlier, but was busy. I emailed him, but he never got back to me. Well, I'm in for sure too. I don't want to pass up a good deal like this.

Good to here you're in...

But I think that you need to 'prepay' up front with a credit card. All payments from everybody needs to be in before Mike places the bulk order to FiberImages... Be aware that it will take a couple of weeks to get your actual hood after payment.

Call Mike if you haven't done so, please. You will bring us to the minimum order... we're counting on you!

Update:

Final Prices (based on 6 orders):
$500 if you pick up
$560 shipped within California
$575 shipped to other states

No charge will be put on your credit card until there are enough people, at which point you are committed.

1. Nealoc187 - #1 ordered
2. Chunger - #3 ordered
3. Cumalot - #5 ordered
4. maximadan96 - #2 ordered
5. sleeper - no news
6. Uncle Max - #4 ordered
7. Turbo95Max - ?
8. maxed up - will call?

I just got an email from "blkmaximase@yahoo.com" saying he is definately in, but hasn't been able to get ahold of motivational.net on the phone yet. I'm thinking this is the .org member named "sleeper" but again I'm not sure.

I also emailed maxed up, about the payment. motivational wont accept cash when the hood is ready, they require payment UP FRONT because they have to pay the manufacturer up front for the entire order, not when the hoods are delivered. This way they don't have to worry about someone "committing" and then backing out after motivational has paid fiberimages for their hood. they don't want to end up paying for a hood that is not already paid for by the customer.

I don't think Neal and I can put it any simpler than:

PAY UP FRONT if you want one...

These are not common items and no one would keep these 'in stock' in their warehouse... they are custom made by special order. Sorry.

Just so you know, this is not my decision nor anyone else on the .org's decision. Its the decision of the Fiberimages, the people making the hoods. They won't make you a hood unless you pay for it up front. In this case we are purchasing the hood through an intermediary, Motivational.net. You have to pay Motivational, and then AND ONLY THEN will Motivational pay Fiberimages and THEN they will make your hood. If you can convince them to do otherwise, more power to ya, but I certainly wouldn't hold my breath.

That's the beauty of credit cards. Your purchase is protected. If your product is never recieved, then you dispute the charges and don't have to pay a dime.

Like I said, this is not my decision, nor amixam98's, nor Chungers or Cumalots or anyone else's on the org. Its the normal policy of the manufacturer, as being enforced by motivational.net.
