What are the possibilities of a VQ30DET in a maxima

Who thinks a VQ30DET swap is possible in a Maxima, I know it would take extensive work but just wondering what you guys think about it?

Well if that's the case then I definitely say it is possible because with enough money anything is possible......even getting away with murder *cough* O.J.*cough*

really..i figured the VQ25 would have more potential being that its a v6 turbo..it would (in my mind) respond better to mods, thus yielding more power. apparently the SR20 is a superior engine...SR35DE anyone?

Why is it not possible to turn the VQ30DET engine into a fwd? Why can you just replace the transmition from rwd to fwd?

OK heres the deal I got a VQ30DET from yo its ok the block will not bolt into a maxima cause theres nowhere to bolt the motor mounts, the brace that holds the passenger side driveshaft and AC and alternator brackets are different. So im in process of swapping everything over to my original block which is a big job all the internals bolt right in which Ive got done already. Once I get the headgaskets and rearmain seal I can get it all put back together.

I'm the first to flame and the first to say "good job". Simple as that. I never flamed Hogan, just wanted info to help others. I never made it a big deal.

I have the S15 cluster, and when wrecked the car had less than 10K Km on it. Asking $4000. Engine has full wiring harness intact, I have another SR20DET red top S14, 18K KM on it, automatic $2700. Excellent condition as well.
SR20DET black top, automatic $2200.

If anyone needs B16B or B18C5( 98Civic Type R, 99Integra Type R respectively) let me know.
can the S14 fit into any 95-97 240sx? what about pre 95s? although i don't think so i was just making sure. also does it matter if the 240sx was originally automatic or manual tranny since it's all going to be swapped out anyway? just want to know if a manual tranny would bolt right in.

because you would have to turn the engine around.

It will work BUT you have to use your VQ30DE block and swap the internals also you have to relocate the turbo. I hope to have mine running by april with a VQ30DET computer/front mount IC/3" exhaust and a bunch of other goodies

This is a very interesting project. Out of curiosity, is there any difference between the DET engine block and ours? Is it fortified in any way? I'd love to see the finished product! Good Luck!

Ok so you're swapping internals from an older Q45 into your vq30de? How much power are you hoping to make with this?

No I swapping the internals from a VQ30DET which comes in the overseas version of the Q45, I swapped th internals into my VQ30DE. The HP in its stock form is 280hp at 6000rpm and 285lbs tq at 3600rpm im shooting for around 14-18 lbs of boost which should have a pretty good output.

Nice job, definitely keep us posted, since my 98 has been moved to secondary/project car status and is no longer my daily driver, I am looking for something to do with it, I am very interested in keeping up with this project. Great job!
